I’ve been uncomfortable with my body for years, but after a couple of bouts of depression coupled with stark weight gain, I devoted some time to self-improvement and learning to love myself no matter what.  I started exercising regularly at the beginning of May, but before I obtained my “goal” body something more important happened: I started liking the person I saw in the mirror, even though she wasn’t stick thin.

So, when this year’s Otakon rolled around, I decided to rock a costume that would show off my assets, because my curves are definitely here to stay.  I couldn’t be more pleased with the result.  Ever since last summer, I told myself I’d submit a picture to this blog when I felt good about myself… and here I am!

Just remember—sexy isn’t a size, it’s a state of mind. ♥
